About CHIP+

Welcome to the CHIP+ website

We hope you find it useful and interesting.

In 2010 CHIP+ will be updating the information held on this website but also the website itself. Any suggestions, ideas and comments are most welcome. Please feel free to contact us via telephone or e-mail. (01463711189 or info@chipplus.org.uk)

CHIP+ gives information, support and advice to the families and carers of children and young people with additional support needs, and/or the professionals working with them. The term 'Additional Support Needs' covers any condition or situation leading to a child needing extra support to fulfil their potential.

While our team of four people is based in Inverness we offer a friendly and confidential service throughout Highland.

How can we help you?

We have a wide range of up-to-date information on additional needs, benefits, education, funding, holidays, equipment...and much, much more. You can phone our office, drop in or contact us by email or letter with any enquiry. We'll respond quickly - and if we don't know the answer ourselves we will put you in touch with someone who can help.

We produce Information Packs for parents and carers and a range of information sheets.

We run a free lending library with a wide range of resources.

We produce a free quarterly newsletter.

We offer training events for families and professionals who work with them throughout Highland.

We can give advice on issues relating to the Education (Additional Support for Learning)(Scotland) Act 2004 and offer support to parents and carers attending school meetings.
