Highland Council
The service manages 185 primary schools and 29 secondary schools throughout its area. Pre-school provision is available in a developing network of schools and units. In addition, the service supports pupils with additional needs in a wide variety of ways, ranging from provision in one of the three special schools or by way of partial or full integration with mainstream pupils. The community education service offers youth and adult learning opportunities in a wide variety of ways and also supports community development. Educational psychologists and advisers assist schools in curriculum development, support for individual pupils and maintaining high standards of education for all.

Childcare and Early Education Service
Pre-school education is a crucial part of a child’s development and helps children learn as they play. This service offers information on childcare places. This service works with children, young people and their families. It offers advice on child development and education and gives support when difficulties arise. They can suggest ways to prevent, manage or resolve these difficulties.
