Welcome to the CHIP website

CHIP (Children in the Highlands Information Point) offers information, support and advice to the families and carers of children and young people with additional support needs, and to professionals who work with them. Based in Inverness, CHIP offers a friendly, free and confidential service throughout Highland region.

CHIP is a registered charity and has four staff and a team of Directors who represent parent/carers and representatives of partner organisations.


Our Vision & Mission Statement

People in Highland receive the information and support they need to enable every child and young person to feel valued and realise their potential.

We will achieve our Vision by:

  • Working both with and for Highland carers of children and young people facing challenges;
  • Providing reliable, free and confidential information to young people, families and professionals;
  • Offering advice and support, both emotional and practical, to young people and families when needed;
  • Sharing and disseminating relevant information with young people, families, professionals and policy makers.
