Right to Advocacy Service

 The Social Security (Scotland) Act requires the Scottish Government to make advocacy support available to people with a disability who need help with the Scottish social security system.They must also set out independent standards for services providing this social security advocacy support. 

 A right to independent advocacy services is to be extended to more people under Scotland’s new social security service.

 Focus groups across Scotland will consult with both those who offer and use advocacy. If you would like to be involved as either an advocacy service user or advocacy provider the closing date is 31st October, with groups meeting on 14th November in Inverness.
